In Loving Memory

We are saddened to announce that Susan Tustin has passed away after a heroic battle with cancer.

Susan Tustin, a sincerely loved part of the Member Savings family for 17 years, did everything humanly possible to make her cancer diagnosis an affirming and positive part of her life. This wasn't just a self-protective response, but a sincere attempt to bring light to those around her.

Time is precious, and Susan didn't waste it. After surviving breast cancer, she volunteered with Camp Oochigeas and served children living with cancer. Susan helped children enjoy the simple yet unforgettable experience of camp, imparting joy and beautiful memories to everyone around her.  She saw that cancer, or any adversity, can serve as a portal through which we might become a better version of ourselves.

Susan shared her knowledge and wisdom freely through her work with the Canadian Cooperative Association travelling to Ghana and Sri Lanka to visit and assist credit unions. She was passionate about her work and no doubt impacted those she met – adults and children alike.

Susan Tustin passed away on September 26, 2011 leaving a hole in all of our lives. We would like to give our love, support and condolences to all of her family. We feel privileged to have known her and will miss her presence and the beautiful life she lived.
